Certification

For over 20 years, our team have been trusted providers of reliable and responsible certification services to the building industry. However, it’s time for a change, and we are excited to announce that with the commencement of Central Certification we are making a pivotal shift towards a more dynamic and forward-thinking certification company.

A decision to work with Central Certification requires a decision to accept a new focus and commitment to adapt to a changing landscape that is more responsible and accountable to the building industry.

We have traditionally provided services throughout Sydney and NSW including the rapidly developing areas in the States major growth areas. With our decision to create Central Certification we propose to provide a greater focus on the major developing ‘Greenfield’ areas of the Macarthur region, the Southern Highlands, the South Coast of NSW and the Sydney Metropolitan area.

At Central, our registered certifiers have accreditations that allow them to assess and determine applications for all classifications and types of buildings. Our certifiers have A1, A2 and A3 accreditations, and over 30 years’ experience in both the private sector and Local Government. Our Certification team

  • Craig is the immediate past President of the Association of Australian Certifiers, a position that he held for over 20 years.

    He worked in Local Government for 15 years before moving to the private sector in 1999 at which time he was instrumental in founding two of the largest certification Company’s in NSW.

    In his role as President of the Association of Australian Certifiers. Craig has provided input into a number of NSW State Government Working Groups and Committees relating to certification and the planning reform.

    Craig first graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health in 1984, from the then, Hawkesbury Agricultural College and since then he has completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Toxicology and a Masters in Business Administration.

    Craig is an accredited Bushfire Practitioner with BPAD qualifications and over 10 years’ experience with assessing applications relating to bushfire management.

    He has worked at Campbelltown, Waverley, Wollondilly and Wollongong Councils.  In his last five (5) years at Wollongong he was part of Councils Senior Management team in his role as the Manager of the Heath and Building Division.  He has been a Director of Companies involved in the certification of buildings since 1999 and is currently the Director of Central Certification Services Pty Ltd.

  • Mitch is a senior member of our certification team at Central Certification Services Pty Ltd.

    He has a Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying and is an A1 Registered Certifier under the NSW Fair Trading Accreditation Scheme.

    Mitch can assess and determine all classes of building and has experience dealing with complex residential buildings, the preparation of NCC/BCA Reports and the review of Performance Solutions under the National Construction Code.

    He has been a Registered Certifier since 2015 and is actively involved in the assessment, determination and inspection of applications for dual occupancies and terrace houses under the Low Rise Diverse Housing Code.

    Mitch has been an active supporter of the Emerging Professionals in Certification (EPIC) Program facilitated by the principal organization representing the certifiers in NSW (i.e. the Association of Australian Certifiers).

    He has worked on projects throughout Sydney, Sydney South West, the Southern Highlands, and the south coast of NSW.

  • James has been a Registered Certifier for over 8 years. Having first qualified in 2017, he has a wealth of experience in assessing, approving and inspecting Class 1A and Class 10 structures.

    He has a strong understanding of the planning system as it relates to residential construction, and has the customer focus to match the position placing him in a strong position to help with the determination of applications for dwellings, alterations and additions, swimming pools, garages, carports and sheds.

    He has worked extensively in the southwestern Sydney region from Liverpool to Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands.

    James is a senior member of our team at Central Certification Services Pty Ltd.
